Tree Survey
The Cheshire Parish Tree Survey Project was an initiative undertaken to assess the health of non-woodland trees across the county.
Now in its 17th year, the main aims of the project are:
- To provide the local community with a clear record of their local trees, which will encourage interest, understanding and participation in the Parish Tree Warden Scheme
- To provide the local authorities with statistically valid non-woodland tree data, from comparable areas across the county, which will complement the forest tree data collected by the Forestry Commission. To help compile information for the Tree survey please click here to download a form.
The survey has been carried out annually since 1993 by volunteer Tree Wardens. Data has been collected from hundreds of trees in 21 different parishes across Cheshire. The survey takes place between the end of July and early September.
