Landscape Wardens

The Landscape Warden Pilot Project focuses on the rich landscape heritage of Cheshire and aims to train local people to look after and report on their local landscape.

The landscape of Cheshire is diverse, stretching from the Welsh border in the west to the Peak National Park in the east, with the Mersey Estuary in the north and the agricultural land of the Cheshire Plain in the south. The British Government has formally signed up to the European Landscape Convention which seeks to promote awareness of living landscapes, a key element of which stresses the role of public participation. This project is an innovative approach to implementing the aim and objectives of the Convention.
